ONORATA-VERSE BACKGROUND:
Lisa was raised by her grandmother, a strict, old-world woman who believed that girls should only go to school with other girls and should keep that figurative quarter between their knees until their wedding night. She never spoke of Lisa's parents as she was growing up, but to be fair Lisa never asked either. From a young age it was obvious that Lisa was destined to be intelligent and serious, like a jaded soul reborn to this world one time too many.

She excelled in the private girl's school that she attended, though her teachers often commented that she had something of an attitude problem -- Lisa never missed the chance to call a spade a spade, or an idiot an idiot. She was also the star of her gymnastics team, though her grandmother disapproved of the activity. A sailor blouse and pleated skirt was what a girl should wear, not a leotard. The old woman would've been completely horrified if she'd known Lisa's weakness for a certain genre of comic and magazine. Her appetite for those things seemed more in keeping with that of a teenage boy, not a teenage girl. But Lisa assured herself that while they might be perverts, she simply had a healthy interest in such things.

When Lisa turned eighteen she learned the truth of her parentage. Her mother had married into the Monacellos, but later had an affair with a man from the Vescovo family. And like most people who play with fire, she got burned -- she became pregnant. Lisa's mother died soon after her birth and the infant was sent to live with her maternal grandmother as soon as blood tests revealed that the Monacello was not her father. Though blood from both families flowed through her veins, she belonged to neither. So Lisa chose to persue the third option -- the AMC.

She entered amidst the height of AMC experimentation. It was decided that her youth and natural abilities made her a good candidate for "Hollowfication". She survived the painful experiments and eventually mastered her inner Hollow. As a result Lisa was faster, stronger, and more agile than ever. But Lisa was not the complete "success" that others who'd undergone the genetic manipulation (namely Shinji and Hiyori) were. She wasn't as bloodthirsty for the fight and the voice of any dormant monster inside of Lisa would have to compete with her already sharp tongue. Her results were promising enough to include her as an AMC soldier with the chance to rise through the ranks in the future. That deal was just fine with Lisa. The sooner she was out of the labs, the sooner she could catch up on her erotic literature.

Lisa came into a small inheritance after her grandmother died and invested it in what she loves. She opened an adult bookstore aptly named "Healthy Interest" and spends most of her free time there when the AMC doesn't force her to do something. Needless to say, her grandmother has probably rolled over in her grave.
